Racing Entries and Flags COGS 2026

With the change in COGS handicapping in 2026, certain administrative changes will be needed to ensure a smooth start to the season.

Boats will be assigned to a class at the start of the season according to the breakdown of entrants in order to keep each class of a similar size, so early COGS entry will really be important in 2026 to avoid last minute panic! COGS will ask for your entry at least a week before the first race of the season to allow the Management Team to decide which boats are entered into the two fleets. Boats that enter either series after the first race will be allocated into the appropriate class by the Management Team. Boats will be required to be in the same class for both series should they enter Coastal and Offshore (as previously announced, the Bay series will no longer be part of COGS).

Identification flags will also be amended. COGS will still use International Code Flag “Z” on top. For each series, the fleets will use flag “1” beneath it for IRC1 and “2” beneath it for IRC2.
