Chairman’s New Year Message

The race calendar for 2025 – our 25th season of COGS – is on the website so please put the dates in your diaries now – before family holidays, daughters’ weddings or new grandchildren get a look in.

The main change is that, in response to requests, our Offshore series has been expanded from 5 to 6 races with 2 potential discards to give more choice and to align with the Coastal series. Anthony has done a lot of work on this new race and will follow with more details.

Entries will open straight after the Notice of Race is published and, in fairness to all, we need to insist on having a current rating certificate for each boat before an entry is complete. IRC applications are due to open next week and YTC from February, so now’s the time to start the process. Ratings often change even if no changes are made to the boat, so don’t delay – you can’t enter without a 2025 certificate.
